For more than a century, Penn State's School of Forest Resources has been a flagship member of this great University.
Forest Resources Building - first floor
The school is unique within Pennsylvania, representing the only professional education and research institution dedicated to the management of forest resources and their use by our society. Quality education, combined with effective research and outreach programs, have made the school one of the most highly regarded forest resource centers in the nation. We have a long-standing tradition providing:
- an affordable education for students interested in forestry and natural resources management, wood products manufacturing and marketing, and water resources;
- a source of well-trained employees for public and private interests;
- access to scientists who can assist with operational, quality, and regulatory issues;
- innovative research oriented to new wood product properties, the structure of ecological systems, and methods of managing and monitoring natural resources over time;
- technology transfer, continuing education, and extension education programs for landowners, corporate America, and public land managers.
Our state-of-the-art Forest Resources Building, opened in 2006, continues this tradition of excellence and expands our capacity to serve our clientele. We also have professional partners housed in our building who collaborate on research.
